MONEY FOR TEACHERS
THROUGH THE HIGHER MARKS TUTORIAL REFERRAL PROGRAM
(Available to Teachers and Principals only)
The Higher Marks Educational Centre, Grenada’s foremost centre for tutoring and upgrading, is offering ALL teachers the opportunity to earn cash for recommending students to the after-school tutorial program. This program is only available to teachers and principals presently employed in a Grenadian school.
Higher Marks has extremely effective programs in Math, English, Reading and Sciences from Kindergarten to Form 5. You know best which of your students need the most help and so we encourage you to direct them to the program for additional help and support with their school work. We would like to work with you to help your weaker students excel and to help increase the number of passes in your school. Higher Marks is a helping arm to all schools.
How do teachers get paid?
If a student joins our program because of a referral from you as a teacher, you will be paid $20.00 -- that is, $20.00 for each student who starts the program.
How does the referral program work?
When referring an individual to the program, the teacher must fill in a Referral Form (available for downlaod below)and give it to the student or parent of the student that is in need of tutoring. The student/parent must bring the slip to registration for proof of referral. Your referral slip with your signature is a coupon that enables the student to get $10 off the cost of registration. Payments will be given to teachers only for students who actually start the program and attend classes. All payments will be disbursed the first Friday of each month at the Higher Marks Tutorial Sub-Office (see address above) between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
How does a teacher claim the funds?
Higher Marks will confirm that the referring teacher is employed at the said school. Thereafter, the teacher will be contacted and advised of the payment pickup date. Alternatively, a teacher can contact the main office at 435-9235 to confirm that a student who he/she has recommended has registered for the program. The teacher should bring photo identification to collect payment. Payments will be disbursed on the first Friday of the month following the student’s first class. There is no limit to the number of referrals a teacher can make.
If you have any questions about the Higher Marks Student Referral Program, please feel free to give us a call at 435-9235 or 410-7436 from Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM; or if you would like a Higher Marks representative to speak with you, your fellow teachers or your parents, please feel free to ask as well.
We’d be happy to assist you in any way we can, as we work together to develop academic excellence in Grenada’s children.
